Job summary

Allstate NI is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead the Database as a Service (DBaaS) program. You will drive technical strategy for enterprise databases, modernize traditional environments, and advance cloud adoption, automation, and AI-enabled capabilities across the organization.

As a hands-on leader, you will collaborate with engineering, security, architecture, and product teams to strengthen SQL Server and Oracle environments, while expanding platforms and improving developer productivity

Qualifications

• 5+ years in database/platform/infra engineering or related disciplines.
• 5+ years leading technical teams and driving organizational change.
• Experience with large-scale enterprise database platforms and modernization initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead vision, strategy, and execution for DBaaS across traditional and cloud-native databases.
• Act as hands-on senior engineering resource for architecture and modernization.
• Drive stabilization and modernization of SQL Server and Oracle platforms.
• Advance IaC, APIs, automation, and self-service capabilities for database delivery.
• Define and build next‑gen capabilities enabling AI, analytics, and cloud adoption.
• Partner with cross-functional leaders to align investments with priorities.
