Job summary

Genomics England is seeking a Principal Data Engineer to shape our data engineering roadmap and practices across national-scale platforms. You will guide architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and collaborate with bioinformatics, product and governance teams to deliver secure, resilient data solutions.

You’ll operate across cloud and hybrid environments, driving DataOps, DevOps, and data governance while ensuring compliance and performance for sensitive clinical and genomic data.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale data platforms.
• Strong architectural leadership across multiple teams and domains.
• Proven ability to communicate complex data decisions to stakeholders.
