Job summary

Palo Alto Networks is seeking Principal Software Engineers to lead and deliver scalable cloud management solutions. You will design and implement a highly available control plane, mentor peers, and drive end-to-end delivery across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes GoLang and Kubernetes expertise, with expectation of extensive enterprise software experience, cloud-native architecture, and strong CI/CD practices.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in building large enterprise applications.
• 3+ years experience in technical leadership roles in building major cloud native apps or subsystems.
• Experience with Certificate Life Cycle management is preferred.
• Excellent programming skills in GoLang is a must, Python is a plus.
• Strong fundamentals in object oriented design and development; experience with TDD and CI is required.
• Experience with microservice based solutions on public cloud infrastructure is highly desirable; Kubernetes experience is a plus.
• Experience building data management solutions using transactional data stores; graph databases are desirable.
• MS/BS in Computer Science or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, Collaborate and Develop highly scalable cloud control plane for managing services at scale in hybrid deployments.
• Hands-on participation in developing next generation configuration management architecture.
• Technical leadership and end-to-end delivery of solutions in collaboration with cross-functional product management, development and quality assurance teams in a fast paced environment.
• Deliberate and build frameworks to improve quality of micro services.
• Work with Devops and Technical Support teams to investigate and resolve critical customer defects.
• Recruit and Mentor new team members.
