Job summary

Palo Alto Networks is seeking a Senior Principal Software Engineer to shape the architecture of our cloud platform and drive end-to-end security for global services. You will lead hands-on engineering across Go, Node.js, and Python, collaborating with product and SRE teams to deliver robust, scalable cloud solutions.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience building large-scale enterprise SaaS applications.
• Deep hands-on experience with Go, Node.js, and Python backend services.
• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP/AWS) and Kubernetes (GKE).
• Strong understanding of identity/authentication/authorization (OIDC, OAuth2).
• Experience with event-driven architectures and workflow orchestration.

Responsibilities

• Architect & evolve platform services, including IAM/RBAC and licensing lifecycles.
• Hands-on design and construction of distributed microservices at scale.
• Enforce zero-trust security patterns across global services (mTLS, OAuth2/OIDC).
• Provide technical leadership and collaborate with product, SRE, and QA teams.
• Contribute to core frameworks, SDKs, and tooling for multi-tenant SaaS.
• Drive reliability, scalability, and root-cause analysis in multi-region deployments.
