Job summary

Palo Alto Networks in the United Kingdom is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to design, develop, test, secure, and deploy cloud-native services using AWS, Python and C++ in a fast-paced, security-focused environment.

You will collaborate with security architects, product managers and other teams, applying ASDLC, AI-enabled development and infrastructure-as-code to deliver scalable solutions with performance and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on software development experience with Python or C++ in cloud-based microservices.
• Proven track record delivering cloud-native microservices on AWS.
• Experience with AI development, LLM tooling, or ML model usage.
• Strong understanding of security and identity management, and secure-by-design principles.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architectural design and implementation of cloud-native microservices on AWS.
• Research and implement security mechanisms and best practices.
• Integrate ASDLC as the primary development framework.
• Mentor engineers, drive code quality, and improve performance and cost efficiency.
