Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Principal Civil Engineer in the UK to lead multi-disciplinary design delivery for landmark projects and to mentor a team of civil engineers. The role involves coordinating external works design, ensuring quality, and delivering on time and on budget with client collaboration.

You will work in a hybrid setup (office/site-based three days per week) from London or Epsom, with opportunities across UK and international projects.

Qualifications

• A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered or Incorporated Civil Engineer.
• Proven experience coordinating or managing a civil engineering design delivery team within a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Strong knowledge of external works such as drainage, utilities, pavements, and earthworks.
• Practical knowledge of current design codes and CDM regulations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate or manage a team of civil engineers for delivery of technical design work on complex multi-disciplinary projects.
• Produce and review design reports, specifications, drawings, calculations, and scopes of work with defined scope.
• Provide technical input into project design deliverables for external works and manage time/budgets to milestones.
• Collaborate with client and AtkinsRéalis teams across disciplines.
• Mentor less experienced colleagues and grow Civil Engineering capabilities.
• Provide technical support for bid proposals.
• Work with UK and overseas teams to deliver integrated design solutions.
• Adhere to QA standards and review processes.
