Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Manchester is seeking Senior Civil Engineers to lead and deliver landmark land development projects across utilities, drainage, and earthworks. You'll manage design teams, mentor colleagues, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary experts to meet programme milestones.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered or Incorporated Civil Engineer status or in final stages toward chartered status.
• Experience coordinating a civil design delivery team within a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Strong knowledge of external works such as drainage, utilities, pavements and earthworks.
• Familiarity with CDM regulations and current design codes.
• Ability to work independently at Senior Civil Engineer level.
• Proficient with analytical tools such as Causeway Flow, InfoDrainage and Civil3D.
• Energy or Defence market experience is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and technical briefing skills.
• Proactive, collaborative mindset focused on client outcomes.
• Full driving license desirable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage a team of civil engineers for complex project delivery.
• Produce, check and review design reports, drawings and calculations.
• Provide technical input into external works design deliverables and manage budgets.
• Collaborate with clients and other AtkinsRéalis teams.
• Mentor and develop junior team members.
• Work independently with minimal guidance and solve technical problems.
• Support bids and proposals with technical input.
• Ensure compliance with CDM and safety procedures.
• Coordinate with UK and overseas teams for integrated design solutions.
• Adhere to QA standards and review processes.
