Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Principal Civil Engineer to lead the civil design delivery in our Design & Advanced Technology practice. The role is based in London or Epsom with a hybrid working pattern and opportunities to work on landmark UK projects.

You will guide multi-disciplinary teams, drive technical excellence, mentor colleagues and contribute to bids while ensuring QA and client satisfaction across programmes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered or Incorporated Civil Engineer.
• Experience coordinating or managing a civil design delivery team in a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Strong knowledge of external works such as drainage, utilities, pavements and earthworks.
• Proficiency with current design codes and CDM regulations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate or manage a team of civil engineers for delivery of technical design work on complex multidisciplinary projects.
• Produce and review technical deliverables such as design reports, specs, drawings, calculations and scopes of work.
• Provide technical input into project design deliverables for external works and manage time and budgets to milestones.
• Collaborate with client, operations, project or service teams across AtkinsRéalis.
• Provide mentorship to less experienced colleagues in the local team.
• Work with minimal guidance and provide direction to junior members.
• Support bids with technical inputs for proposals.
• Collaborate with UK and overseas multidisciplinary teams on integrated designs.
• Adhere to QA standards including check and review of your own and others’ work.
