Job summary

Palo Alto Networks is seeking a Principal Backend Engineer to join the Cortex team and help prevent, detect and respond to threats across endpoints, networks and cloud data.

You will design and build scalable server-side systems, own the full SDLC, and drive the Autopilot autonomous investigation and response initiative.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience in distributed cloud products.
• Experience with databases: Mysql, Cassandra, BigQuery, Redshift, ElasticSearch.
• Designing, building and maintaining scalable server-side apps.
• BSc in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Go / Python experience is a plus.
• GCP experience is a plus.
• Graph databases knowledge is a plus.
• Kubernetes / Docker experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of the cyber field is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and build infra handling billions of events per second, storing, processing and making them accessible and visible to the user.
• Own the full SDLC: requirements, design, development, deployment and support; write clean, efficient, scalable code.
• Lead inception and execution of Autopilot autonomous investigation and response solution.
