Job summary

Palo Alto Networks is seeking a senior software engineer to join the Cortex Platform team. You will work with DevOps, application teams, QA and leadership to design and drive backend and platform changes with real impact across the Cortex ecosystem.

You will lead cross-functional design efforts, own incident response, and help translate complex technical investigations into clear actions for teams. Strong Python and cloud experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience
• Lead technical design for complex backend and platform domains
• Experience in distributed cloud products (K8S, Docker, GCP)
• Experience with troubleshooting production issues
• Experience in Python - Must

Responsibilities

• Participate in on-call rotation for Cortex Platform
• Troubleshoot incidents and drive resolution with teams
• Identify root causes and own end-to-end incidents
• Contribute to customer-facing RCAs
