Job summary

Palo Alto Networks is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to be the technical anchor for the Identity Authentication engineering team. You will drive the architectural design, roadmap, and implementation of high-throughput SaaS services on AWS using CDK and .NET, mentoring engineers and guiding cross-team decisions to ensure scalability and security.

You will lead end-to-end system design, collaborate with Product and Security to translate requirements into scalable software, and raise engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 8–12+ years of professional software engineering experience delivering enterprise cloud SaaS applications.
• Deep expertise in .NET / C# (or Java/Go/Python) within distributed cloud environments.
• Strong background in microservice and event-driven architecture.
• Demonstrated experience owning critical subsystem architectures from design through production scale.

Responsibilities

• Drive end-to-end design and system architecture for enterprise-grade Identity & User Management cloud services.
• Partner with Product Managers and Security Architects to translate identity requirements into scalable software architecture.
• Elevate technical excellence by setting standards for code quality, resilience, telemetry, and automated testing.
• Provide technical coaching and mentoring for mid-level and senior engineers to foster team growth.
• Solve complex bottlenecks, evaluate new tech stacks, and optimize AWS infrastructure costs and performance.
