Job summary

Palo Alto Networks is seeking a Principal Backend Engineer to own the backend strategy for our integrated detection and response engine. You will transform raw endpoint, network, and cloud data into actionable intelligence, using AI-driven techniques to reduce false positives and focus on stopping the world’s most critical threats.

You will lead end-to-end software development, architect scalable data infrastructure, and integrate AI to deliver fast, resilient, and maintainable systems at scale.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience in distributed cloud products.
• Knowledge of the cyber field.
• BSc in Computer Science or equivalent knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Architect and scale a world-class data infrastructure to process billions of events per second in real-time.
• Integrate AI technologies to transform telemetry into high-fidelity actionable intelligence.
• Own the end-to-end software development lifecycle from design to deployment of AI-augmented systems.
