Job summary

Vision For Education Ltd. is recruiting a Primary Teaching Assistant to work in County Durham (DH9), supporting Year 3 and Year 4 with maths and English interventions and SEND assistance.

The post is full-time, temporary for maternity cover from January 2027 to December 2027, with excellent daily PAYE rates, pension contributions, CPD and a dedicated consultant.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with primary school aged children.
• Experience of working with pupils with SEND.
• A passion for the progress of primary school pupils.
• An ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide intervention sessions in maths and English for Year 3 and Year 4.
• Deliver general classroom support and SEND assistance as needed.
• Work as part of a supportive teaching team to raise attainment.

Primary Teaching Assistant (Full-time, Temporary)

£460 - £500 per week (salary is depending on experience and/or qualifications)

The School and Role

On behalf of the Connect Multi-Academy Trust, based in the County Durham area, Vision for Education is recruiting a Teaching Assistant to work on a full-time basis from January 2027. Covering a maternity leave, the Primary Teaching Assistant appointed for the role will be working in Year 3 and Year 4 to provide intervention sessions in the core subjects (maths and English), as well as general and SEND support. The role will involve working with children of both lower and higher attainment. This is a ‘Good’ school, where pupils enjoy coming to school and feel supported in their learning.

Requirements

The desired Primary Teaching Assistant will have;

• Experience of working with primary school aged children
• Experience of working with pupils with SEND
• A passion for the progress of primary school pupils
• An ability to work as part of a team
