Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd is seeking a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to support a Year 2 pupil with Autism in a part-time, temporary role at a Newcastle upon Tyne primary school.

The post runs November 2026 to July 2027, with a 08:30-12:30 schedule, 1:1 support, and the chance to develop classroom practice through CPD and close collaboration with the teaching team.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in KS1.
• Experience of supporting children with SEND.
• An ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills.
• A calm and approachable manner.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to a Year 2 pupil with Autism.
• Work alongside the class teacher to tailor learning and access to the curriculum.
• Support the pupil to engage with activities and peers within the class.

The School and Role

A lovely First School with excellent public transport links is seeking to appoint a dedicated, nurturing and knowledgeable Teaching Assistant to join their team. The successful TA will be offering 1:1 support to a pupil in Year 2 with Autism on a part-time basis, Monday - Friday, 08:30-12:30. The TA will work alongside the class teacher, providing tailored support to help the child engage positively with their learning and access the curriculum effectively. This is a long-term role, with potential to turn permanent.
