Job summary

Smile Education is seeking enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support friendly primary schools across Middlesbrough and surrounding areas. Flexible supply work, part-time, full-time, and long-term opportunities are available.

From £95 per day PAYE, with compensation reflecting commitment and experience. Ideal candidates have UK-recognised Level 2 TA qualification or above and a solid understanding of the primary curriculum.

Qualifications

• Ideally, a UK-recognised Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or above.
• Experience as a Teaching Assistant in a UK primary school.
• Understanding of the primary curriculum and classroom routines.
• Confidence supporting children's learning, development and emotional wellbeing.
• Experience working with children of different abilities and learning needs.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work alongside teachers.
• A positive, adaptable and proactive approach.
• A genuine passion for supporting children's education.

Essential requirements

• Previous experience working with children in a primary school or relevant educational setting.
• Ideally, a UK-recognised Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or above.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Enhanced child workforce DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for a new DBS.
• Satisfactory professional references and completion of safeguarding checks.
