Job summary

Niche Education Ltd is seeking a Teaching Assistant to work in primary schools in and around Middlesbrough. A successful candidate will have worked as a teaching assistant before or have transferable experience from healthcare or another sector that can transfer to education.

They are looking for enthusiastic, dynamic and resourceful individuals to join a dedicated support team. The role involves supporting students, including those with complex needs, and helping them develop independence.

Qualifications

• Be a qualified teaching assistant or have transferable skills.
• Have worked with children or young adults before, possibly including those with SEND.
• Engage with children or young adults and enforce positive behaviour.
• Able to challenge children when they display negative behaviour.
• Able to build a strong rapport with pupils, including those with SEND.
• Be resilient and able to stay calm under stress.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Be responsive, flexible and sensitive to differing pupil needs.

They are looking for people who will enjoy being effective in supporting students, including those with complex needs, and who have an appreciation of the positive attitude required to encourage independence in their students.

The ideal candidate will:
