Job summary

Horizon Teachers is working with a welcoming and well-regarded primary school in Chobham, Surrey to find a reliable and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant for a long-term role in Year 5, starting as soon as possible.

You’ll be working closely with the class teacher to support a group of engaged Year 5 pupils, making a real difference to their learning and confidence every single day.

Qualifications

• Experience as Teaching Assistant with primary-aged children.
• Warm, patient and enthusiastic approach to supporting learners.
• Flexible and collaborative work style within a close-knit school team.
• Good communication skills and proactive attitude.
• Level 2/3 TA qualification desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons across the curriculum.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils needing assistance.
• Help create a positive, structured and nurturing classroom environment.
• Assist with managing resources and classroom organisation.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.

• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role with primary-aged children
• A warm, patient and enthusiastic approach to supporting young learners
• The ability to work flexibly and collaboratively as part of a close‑knit school team
• Good communication skills and a proactive attitude
• A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential
