Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Early Career Teacher (ECT).
  • Experience or strong interest in working with pupils with SEND and Autism.
  • Warm, patient, resilient and nurturing.

  • Strong ability to build relationships with pupils and colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons for SEND pupils.
  • Support pupils with SEND including Autism in class and with support staff.
  • Create a safe, inclusive classroom environment.
  • Develop positive relationships with pupils, parents, carers and professionals.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants and wider school staff.
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress and adjust teaching accordingly.
  • Promote independence and a love of learning.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school.

SEND Teacher - Primary Special School

Location: Radcliffe Salary: To scale Contract: Temp to Perm Start Date: ASAP Hours: Full-time

Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for a passionate and dedicated SEND Teacher to join an outstanding primary special school. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher or ECT with a genuine interest in supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

The school caters for pupils with significant additional educational needs across the primary age range and provides a warm, nurturing and highly supportive learning environment.

The Role

As a SEND Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils, while working closely with support staff, families and other professionals.

  • Plan and deliver creative, engaging and differentiated lessons.
  • Support pupils with a range of SEND needs, including Autism.
  • Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Develop positive relationships with pupils, parents, carers and professionals.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and wider school staff.
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching to meet individual needs.
  • Promote independence, confidence and a love of learning.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school.
  • Take an active role in your own professional development.
The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for a teacher who is:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an ECT.
  • Experienced in, or passionate about, working with pupils with SEND and Autism.
  • Warm, patient, resilient and nurturing.
  • Creative and enthusiastic in their approach to teaching.
  • Organised and committed to high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Able to build strong relationships with pupils and colleagues.
  • Committed to inclusion and improving outcomes for children with additional needs.
  • A strong team player with excellent communication skills.

Experience within a special school, SEND provision, autism setting or mainstream school with SEND experience would be highly desirable.
