Job summary

Supply Desk is recruiting a passionate SEN Teacher for a maternity cover at a welcoming SEN Primary specialist school in Southampton. The post welcomes either a primary or secondary teacher with a passion for inclusion.

The role runs from November to Summer 2027, with start ASAP - October half term. You will plan differentiated lessons for pupils with SEN (ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs) and work with TAs, therapists, parents and external professionals to support EHCP targets and

Qualifications

• Passionate about inclusive education and SEN support.
• Experience or understanding of supporting pupils with a range of SEN.
• Able to differentiate learning to meet diverse needs.
• Strong communicator within a school and with families.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
• Support pupils with SEN including autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs.
• Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
• Monitor progress and maintain records aligned with EHCP targets.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists, parents and external professionals.
• Promote positive behaviour, confidence and emotional wellbeing.
• Adapt teaching strategies and resources to support engagement and achievement.
• Encourage pupils to develop independence, communication and social skills.
