Job summary

Supply Desk is recruiting a passionate SEN Teacher for a welcoming specialist school in Southampton. You will plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons to pupils with SEND, ensuring high quality teaching and emotional wellbeing.

The role supports both primary and secondary learners and runs full-time as a maternity cover from November to Summer 2027, with opportunities to collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists and families to secure positive outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching pupils with SEN (ASD, ADHD, SEMH) and commitment to inclusion.
• Ability to plan differentiated lessons and monitor progress.
• Confident communicator with collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
• Support pupils with SEN including autism, ADHD, SEMH, and speech and language needs.
• Create an inclusive, safe classroom and monitor progress against targets.

Supply Desk are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive apecialist school in Southampton This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with Special Educational Needs. The school are eager to welcome either a primary or secondary teacher with a passion for inclusion. This post is a maternity cover from November to Summer 2027.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging, personalised and differentiated learning to pupils with a range of additional needs, supporting their academic progress, personal development and emotional wellbeing. You will play a key role in creating a positive classroom environment where every pupil feels valued, supported and encouraged to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
• Support pupils with a variety of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and learning difficulties.
• Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Monitor progress and maintain accurate records in line with EHCP targets.
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, parents and external professionals.
• Promote positive behaviour, confidence and emotional wellbeing.
• Adapt teaching strategies and resources to support engagement and achievement.
• Encourage pupils to develop their independence, communication and social skills.

Requirements

• Passionate about delivering high-quality, inclusive education and supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs.
• Experience or understanding of supporting pupils with a range of SEN, including autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs and learning difficulties.
• Committed to supporting pupils both academically, socially and emotionally.
• A confident and adaptable classroom practitioner who can differentiate learning to meet a range of individual needs.
• A strong communicator who works effectively as part of a wider school and support team.
• Able to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, parents, carers and colleagues.
