Job summary

Supply Desk is seeking a passionate SEN Teacher to join an inclusive SEN Primary setting in Southampton on a maternity cover from November to Summer 2027. You will deliver engaging, differentiated learning for pupils with a range of needs, supporting academic progress and emotional wellbeing.

The role welcomes either a primary or secondary teacher with a commitment to inclusion, working with a supportive team to create a positive classroom environment where every pupil can thrive.

Qualifications

• Passionate about delivering inclusive education and supporting pupils with SEN.
• Experience or understanding of ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs and learning difficulties.
• Able to differentiate learning to meet a range of individual needs.
• Strong communication and collaboration within school teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
• Support pupils with SEN including autism, ADHD, SEMH and communication needs.
• Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
• Monitor progress and maintain records in line with targets.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists, parents and external professionals.
• Promote positive behaviour, confidence and emotional wellbeing.
• Adapt teaching strategies to support engagement and achievement.
• Encourage independence, communication and social skills.

Supply Desk are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive apecialist school in Southampton This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with Special Educational Needs. The school are eager to welcome either a primary or secondary teacher with a passion for inclusion. This post is a maternity cover from November to Summer 2027.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging, personalised and differentiated learning to pupils with a range of additional needs, supporting their academic progress, personal development and emotional wellbeing. You will play a key role in creating a positive classroom environment where every pupil feels valued, supported and encouraged to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Encourage pupils to develop their independence, communication and social skills.

Requirements

• Passionate about delivering high-quality, inclusive education and supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs.
• Experience or understanding of supporting pupils with a range of SEN, including autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs and learning difficulties.
• Committed to supporting pupils both academically, socially and emotionally.
• A confident and adaptable classroom practitioner who can differentiate learning to meet a range of individual needs.
