Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking SEND Support Staff to assist primary pupils with additional needs in Wakefield and surrounding areas. Roles include 1:1 and small-group support across KS1/KS2, working with Autism/ASC, ADHD, and related needs. On-going opportunities with a dedicated onboarding team and market-leading pay.

All roles involve safeguarding responsibilities, DBS checks, and collaboration with school SEND teams to provide consistent support. PAYE payroll ensures correct tax and NI deductions.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months' experience supporting children with SEND.
• Experience working with primary-aged pupils.
• Knowledge or experience of Autism/ASC and ADHD.
• Confidence providing 1:1 and small-group support.
• Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
• A calm, patient and consistent approach.
• A commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Support individual pupils 1:1 in a mainstream classroom.
• Deliver small-group interventions to pupils needing extra help.
• Provide additional support within the classroom as directed by teachers.
