Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD in the Blackburn area, Lancashire, is recruiting a Youth Mentor / Pastoral Worker for a mainstream primary school (KS1–KS2). The role supports pupils with SEMH needs, mild behavioural challenges, and anxiety, helping them stay engaged in the classroom.

You will deliver 1:1 and small-group mentoring, early interventions, and trauma-informed pastoral care. You’ll support teachers during lessons and transitions, build trusted relationships, and help children develop

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in education or youth settings.
• Must hold an Enhanced DBS certificate registered with Update Service.
• Willingness to process one through Tradewind.

Responsibilities

• 1:1 and small-group mentoring to support pupil wellbeing.
• Pastoral care and early interventions for SEMH, behaviour and attendance.
• Support teaching staff during lessons and transitions.
• Promote emotional regulation and resilience.
