Tradewind Recruitment LTD in the Blackburn area, Lancashire, is recruiting a Youth Mentor / Pastoral Worker for a mainstream primary school (KS1–KS2). The role supports pupils with SEMH needs, mild behavioural challenges, and anxiety, helping them stay engaged in the classroom.
You will deliver 1:1 and small-group mentoring, early interventions, and trauma-informed pastoral care. You’ll support teachers during lessons and transitions, build trusted relationships, and help children develop
Location: Blackburn area, Lancashire (easily accessible via local transport links)
Provision Type: Mainstream Primary School (Supporting pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2)
Contract Type: Long-Term Supply to Permanent (Start: After October Half Term)
Pay Rate: £100 - £130 per day (Dependent on experience)
Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday (School hours)

We cater to children across Key Stages 1 and 2 (ages 4 to 11) who may experience Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, mild behavioural challenges, low attendance, or anxiety, and who benefit from targeted pastoral guidance to stay engaged in the classroom.
As a Youth Mentor and Pastoral Worker, you will bridge the gap between academic learning and emotional well being in a bustling primary setting. You will work closely with vulnerable pupils across primary age groups, acting as a trusted role model, sounding board, and guide.
Your objective is to help young children navigate their big emotions, build positive coping strategies, develop social skills, and re-engage with their learning and classroom community.
