Tradewind Recruitment are currently helping a mainstream primary school in the Blackburn area to recruit a Youth Mentor / Pastoral Worker. You will support pupils across KS1 and KS2 with SEMH needs, behavioural challenges, and attendance, providing pastoral guidance to help them engage with learning.

Role is full-time school hours, long-term supply with a view to permanent, starting after October half term.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in education or youth contexts.
• Enhanced DBS (Child Workforce) with Update Service or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to promote emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour in primary pupils.
• Commitment to safeguarding and working with school staff.

Responsabilités

• 1:1 and small group mentoring to support emotional and social development.
• Deliver early intervention and pastoral care to improve engagement.
• Assist classroom during lessons and transitions to keep learners on task.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, families and staff.
