Job summary

TeacherActive is working with a mainstream Primary School in Pontypridd and is recruiting a Teaching Assistant to support pupils with reading, writing and phonics. The role involves delivering targeted literacy interventions and assisting classrooms on a full-time basis.

The successful candidate will have experience in primary settings, knowledge of Read Write Inc. or similar programmes, and strong communication skills. Salary is £14.25 per hour with ongoing opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a primary school setting.
• Experience delivering literacy and phonics interventions.
• Knowledge and experience of Read Write Inc. or similar literacy programmes.
• A good understanding of supporting pupils with reading and writing.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• A positive and adaptable approach to supporting children's learning.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted literacy interventions to pupils across the primary age range.
• Support classroom teachers with reading, writing, and phonics activities.
• Use programmes such as Read Write Inc. to strengthen literacy outcomes.
• Monitor progress and adapt strategies to individual pupil needs.
