Job summary

A vibrant primary school in Kirkham is looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to provide support across both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 on a full-time basis.

Start Date: November 2026. Competitive pay of £14.25 per hour with a consistent schedule from 8:45am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday. This is a long-term role with potential for permanency for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Have previous experience supporting children within a classroom environment.
• Confident working with pupils across KS1 and KS2.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to use initiative and adapt to different classes and learners.
• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (advantageous but not essential).

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils during whole-class lessons, group activities and independent work.
• Assisting with literacy, numeracy and other curriculum-based activities.
• Working with small groups of children who require additional support.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting a positive learning environment.
• Preparing classroom resources and assisting with daily classroom routines.
• Supporting pupils' social, emotional and academic development.
