Job summary

Shropshire Council is seeking a Cover Supervisor/HLTA for Mount Pleasant Primary School in Shrewsbury. The role is fixed-term, term-time, 30 hours per week at Grade 7 (£20,025). The successful candidate will cover classes and support learning across the primary age range, including pupils with SEND.

Experience at HLTA level or above and a solid understanding of behaviour management are important. Flexibility and reliability are essential to support daily school priorities.

Qualifications

• HLTA level or higher is required.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND is highly desirable.
• Strong behaviour management and positive pupil engagement are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality cover for teachers and teaching assistants when staff are absent.
• Be deployed across the school to support learning as needed.
• Support pupils with a range of needs to access learning successfully.
