Job summary

Nicholas Associates Group is seeking a Press Tool Design Engineer near Redditch to join its Manufacturing and Engineering team. You will design sheet metal press tools and fixtures and collaborate with experienced manufacturing engineers to deliver precision components.

The ideal candidate will have Solidworks proficiency and a mechanical engineering qualification (HNC/HND or degree) or a toolmaking apprenticeship with design experience. Commutable from Redditch and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in sheet metal press tool design, with a portfolio of high-precision components.
• Competent with SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

• Design sheet metal press tools and fixtures for precision components.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers in a large engineering function.

• Hours: Monday to Thursday (7.30am - 4.30pm) Friday (7.30am - 12.30pm) - 39 hours per week

Overview:

With manufacturing facilities located across the UK, we now require a Press Tool Design Engineer to join the Manufacturing and Engineering team. You will part of a large engineering function of Manufacturing Engineers with a key focus on press tool design.

The ideal candidate / Press Tool Design Engineer may have some of the following experiences, however, please note these are only desirable and not essential as all applications will be looked at individually:

• Proven experience in sheet metal press tool design, with a distinct portfolio of small, high-precision components.
• Competent with Solidworks
• HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering, OR a completed Toolmaking Apprenticeship paired with design experience

Commutable from:

Redditch, Alcester, Solihull, Bromsgrove, Coventry, Worcester, Birmingham and surrounding areas.
