Job summary

Contek Recruitment Solutions Ltd in Redditch is seeking a skilled Press Toolmaker to manufacture, assemble, repair and modify press tools, progression tools and blanking tools to exacting standards on a day shift.

Essential: hands-on CNC machining and Wire EDM experience, plus the ability to read engineering drawings. A time-served apprenticeship or relevant qualification in toolmaking/machining is required, with strong problem-solving and meticulous attention to detail.

• Experience with Wire EDM and ability to read drawings.

About the Role

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Press Toolmaker to join a well-established precision engineering and manufacturing company based in Redditch. In this role, you will be responsible for the manufacture, maintenance, assembly, and repair of high-precision press tools, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to strict quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manufacture, assemble, repair, and modify press tools, progression tools, and blanking tools.
• Interpret complex engineering drawings and CAD models.
• Use precision measuring equipment to inspect components and verify tolerances.
• Troubleshoot and resolve tool-related issues on the shop floor to minimize downtime.
• Maintain a safe and organized working environment.

Candidate Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Toolmaker, specifically within a press tooling environment.
• Essential: Hands-on experience with CNC machining.
• Essential: Practical experience in wire eroding (Wire EDM).
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Time-served apprenticeship or relevant technical qualification in toolmaking/machining.
