Job summary

City of Portsmouth College is seeking a Pre-16 Learning Support Assistant (LSA) at the Highbury and North Harbour campus to provide classroom and 1:1 support for students with SEND, SEMH and other barriers to learning. You will work with teachers to promote positive behaviour, confidence and progress toward educational goals.

The role involves promoting independence, wellbeing and high expectations, with responsibilities including monitoring progress and collaboration with staff during term-time

Qualifications

• Ability to support young people with SEND and learning needs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Good literacy and numeracy across age groups.

Responsibilities

• Support students with SEND and learning needs in class and 1:1.
• Monitor and record students’ progress and behaviours.
• Collaborate with teachers and college staff to plan support.
