Job summary

Academics in Portsmouth is seeking Learning Support Assistants to provide nurturing support and classroom aid, helping pupils make progress throughout the school day. You will work closely with teachers to maintain a positive learning environment.

Ideal applicants are team players with good communication, patience and reliability. Roles include 1:1 support for some students, and suitability for daily supply, short-term or long-term contracts.

Qualifications

• Strong team player, confident, motivated and well organised.
• Experience in classroom or educational setting is advantageous, but other experience is considered.
• DBS checks will be required to clear you for work.

Responsibilities

• Enable pupils to develop and progress by providing physical, emotional and nurturing support.
• Support the Teacher in the classroom and assist during lessons.
• Work 1:1 with lower level learners or children with challenging behaviours when needed.
