Job summary

Emmer Green Surgery is seeking a Practice Nurse to join the general practice nursing team. The role focuses on treatment room care and managing long-term conditions, including injections under PGDs, pathology requests, and NHS health checks. Hours are negotiable from a minimum of 26.5 per week; newly qualified nurses are welcome with training provided.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with current UK NMC registration.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Accurate documentation of treatments in patient records.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine nursing care within the treatment room.
• Identify, manage and support patients at risk of long-term conditions.
• Develop and embed health promotion and wellbeing programmes.
• Administer injections under PGDs and PSDs.
• Request pathology services and process results.
• Maintain accurate clinical records using Read codes.
• Carry out new patient health checks and NHS health screening checks.
• Participate in national immunisation and screening programmes.
• Comply with QOF, enhanced services and medicines management initiatives.
• Prepare and maintain treatment environments and equipment.
• Support and guide healthcare assistants.
• Assist GPs with procedures and chaperone for intimate examinations.
