Job summary

Hollyns Health and Wellbeing is seeking a full time Practice Nurse to cover maternity leave, with part time considered. GP Practice experience is essential.

The role spans two sites and supports a patient population of about 13,000 with diverse services including chronic disease clinics and minor procedures. The successful candidate will join a proactive team, enabling high quality care, training opportunities, and a collaborative approach within a Primary Care Network.

Qualifications

• Registered First Level Nurse with current UK registration.
• Post basic qualifications in primary care with chronic disease management.
• Experience in cervical cytology and immunisations are essential.
• Knowledge of infection control procedures and guidelines.
• Understanding of safeguarding, risk assessment & health & safety in primary care.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high quality integrated nursing care to the practice population.
• Promote health and well-being within the practice population.
• Work with clinical and non-clinical staff and wider healthcare team to achieve QoF and NHS standards.
• Undertake cervical cytology screening and chronic disease management.
• Perform venepuncture and electrocardiography; administer injections/immunisations.
• Provide lifestyle advice and support patient self-care.
• Assist in clinical emergencies and maintain annual competencies (anaphylaxis, resuscitation).
• Cover sickness/annual leave as needed and participate in extended surgeries.
