Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Practice Nurse to work for a GP practice in David Street. The role suits a nurse with strong assessment skills who can deliver chronic disease reviews, wound care, immunisations (if trained) and routine clinics in a structured primary care environment.

You will contribute to high-quality patient care through a balance of clinical reviews, preventative health work and treatment room activity. Regular or ad-hoc sessions with long-term bookings offered.

Qualifications

• NMC-registered with primary care experience.
• Immunisation and cytology training desirable.
• Confident in chronic disease management.
• Good patient communication and clinical reasoning.
• Familiar with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Conduct chronic disease reviews for asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension.
• Perform wound care, dressings and treatment room duties.
• Carry out immunisations (if trained).
• Undertake smear tests (cytology-trained).
• Complete NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments.
• Manage results, recalls and routine follow-up tasks.
• Document clearly in the clinical system.
