The Hill Surgery is seeking a motivated Practice Nurse to join our friendly primary care team. You will provide high-quality nursing care, support chronic disease management, immunisations, cervical screening, and health promotion in line with your competencies.

You will work with GPs and the wider team to deliver excellent patient care, maintain accurate records and uphold professional standards through ongoing CPD.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
• Evidence of recent continuing professional development relevant to general practice nursing.
• Current training in basic life support.
• Evidence of training in infection prevention and control, safeguarding and medicines management.
• Immunisation and vaccination training.
• Travel health, wound care, contraception, sexual health training.

Responsabilités

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients within the practice.
• Undertake chronic disease reviews (e.g., diabetes, asthma, COPD) in line with training.
• Administer vaccinations and immunisations in line with national guidelines.
• Carry out cervical screening and other preventative health checks as trained.
• Perform wound care, dressings and other nursing procedures.
• Promote health education, disease prevention and patient self-management.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records using the practice system.
• Ensure safe handling, storage and administration of vaccines and medicines.
• Work collaboratively with GPs, nursing colleagues and the wider practice team.
• Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement, and practice meetings.
