Job summary

Horsefair Practice Group is seeking a motivated Practice Nurse to join our GP training practice network across the Horsefair and Sandy Lane sites. You will deliver a wide range of nursing duties, support patients with long-term conditions, and work within a supportive multidisciplinary team.

The role emphasizes chronic disease management, immunisations, cervical screening, and health promotion within NHS guidelines.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (Adult) with NMC registration.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.
• Experience in primary care and immunisation protocols.
• Cosmetic or special interest training is desirable (e.g., cervical cytology, family planning).

Responsibilities

• Deliver a wide range of nursing duties including chronic disease management, wound care, immunisations, and health screenings.
• Support patients with long-term conditions such as diabetes, COPD, and hypertension.
• Assist with cervical smears, health promotion, and patient education.
• Work collaboratively with GPs, healthcare assistants, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure compliance with clinical protocols.
• Phlebotomy: venepuncture for blood tests and proper sample handling.
• Provide NHS Health Checks and lifestyle advice.
• Assist GPs with minor procedures and in-practice clinical activities.
