Job summary

Practice Plus Group in London is seeking a Practice Nurse for the Planned team at HMP Pentonville. The role involves delivering clinical care within a category B prison, building a broad range of skills, and working with a multidisciplinary team to support prisoners’ health and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse: Adult Nursing with current NMC registration.
• Experience working autonomously as a clinical practitioner following best practice guidance and identifying risk to patients.
• Knowledge of the statutory requirements for the safeguarding of adults and children.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate openly, consistently and clearly.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Practice Nurse to join our Planned team at HMP Pentonville a category B Prison located in London. 8am -4pm

Salary

This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £55086 per annum

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK on a permanent basis and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

What you'll be doing

• Teams will work together at each stage of the patient journey, supporting them as they arrive into prison (Early Days in Custody Team), delivering the care they need, promoting good health and supporting resettlement (Planned Care Team) and responding to urgent and emergency needs (Unscheduled Care Team).
• As a Practice Nurse you need expert clinical skills and demonstrate judgement in assessing and managing wide ranging and complex patient problems. You will provide clinical leadership for the Primary care team and be a critical leader within the scheduled care Team.
• You will be accountable for your own practice, including the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and discharge or referral of patients, independent of medical intervention.
• This will include managing a case load i,e long term conditions and QoF management.
