Job summary

Practice Plus Group seeks a Senior Primary Care Nurse to join the Primary Care team at HMP Highpoint, Stradishall, Suffolk. You will lead a nurse-led service within a secure environment, delivering patient-centred care and reducing unnecessary hospital admissions.

The role is full-time (37.5 hours) with no night shifts, offering career development opportunities and benefits. UK right-to-work is required.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse – Adult with valid NMC registration.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Primary Care Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Highpoint, a category C Prison located in the village of Stradishall in Suffolk. The Primary Care team consists of a team of 15 which include Senior Primary Care Nurses, Health Care Assistants, Advanced Nurse Practitioners and Non-Medical Prescribers.

Highpoint is spilt into 2 sites, the North Building has around 390 males and the South Building has around 950 males. Both sites have designated Healthcare Departments which you will be based in.

Hours

• Monday - Sunday service 37.5 hours per week.


• 7.45am - 18:15pm - NO NIGHT SHIFTS.


• Every other weekend and bank holiday also included as part of rota.


• 4 week rolling rota


• Open to discuss lower hours


• Please note transport by car is recommended due to location of the prison.

Salary

This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £43,609 - £49,175 per annum - depending on experience.

What you’ll be doing

As a Senior Primary Care Nurse your responsibilities will vary. You will

• You will lead a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse led service and prevent hospital admissions


• You will undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening.
