Job summary

Practice Plus Group is recruiting a Primary Care Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Oakwood in Wolverhampton. You will deliver nurse-led clinics, conduct medication rounds, and provide evidence-based care to prisoners within a multi-disciplinary setting.

You will benefit from bespoke induction, career development opportunities, and support from the wider team. Salary ranges between £34,428 and £41,659 per annum, with no night shifts and a 10.5-hour shift pattern.

Qualifications

  • Registered nurse – Adult NMC.
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development.
  • Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working.
  • Non-judgmental and compassionate approach.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver nurse-led clinics to your patient group with support from a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Undertake medication rounds and dispense controlled medication.
  • Provide outstanding evidence-based care to patients and seek feedback to tailor care.
  • Inspire excellence by forging strong links with partners and stakeholders.
  • Share knowledge and expertise to ensure safe care within the team.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Primary Care Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Oakwood, a category C Prison located in Wolverhampton. HMP Oakwood is one of the largest prison in the UK, housing over 1,500 men.

The site offers:
  • Free Parking
  • Gym Access
Hours:
  • Monday- Sunday - 10.5 hour shifts
  • A fixed 8 week shift pattern
  • Every other weekend. 10 -12hr shifts
  • No nights
Salary:

Salary range between £34,428 - £41,659 per annum, depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK, due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

What you'll be doing
  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse led service and prevent hospital admissions
  • Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening
  • Use your skills and knowledge to deliver nurse led clinics to your patient group whilst being supported by a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Provide outstanding evidence based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
  • Deliver non-judgemental care that makes a real difference
  • Inspire excellence by forging strong links with our partners and stakeholders
  • Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence based care and continuous quality improvement, embedding a culture of shared learning.
  • Share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care, building strong multi-disciplinary teams.
