We have an exciting opportunity for a Primary Care Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Long Lartin, a prison located in Littleton.

About The Role

HMP Long Lartin is a male prison serving life sentences with a capacity for 690 inmates. It is not well situated, so you would need to drive.

Hours

37.5 hours per week.

12.5 hour shifts – 07:30am to 20:00pm.

Potential night shifts – 19:30pm to 08:00am, with 3 long days and 4 long days every 4th week.

Salary

£34,428 – £41,659 per annum, depending on experience.

You will be paid for all 12.5 hours of your night shift, as due to the prison security you will be unable to leave the site (apart from emergencies after 22:00 at night).

What you'll be doing

• Work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse-led service and prevent hospital admissions
• Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening
• Use your skills and knowledge to deliver nurse-led clinics to your patient group, while being supported by a multi-disciplinary team.
• Provide outstanding evidence-based care, seeking feedback and personalising care based on what matters to patients.
• Deliver non-judgemental care that makes a real difference
• Inspire excellence by forging strong links with partners and stakeholders
• Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence-based care and continuous quality improvement, embedding a culture of shared learning.
