We are a premises-owning, four-Partner,training practice with a growing list size. We haveseven Salaried GP's, two Advanced Care Practitioners, three Practice Nurses,one Nursing Associate and four Healthcare Assistants providing clinicalsupport, and a strong close-knit administrative team.
We have a strong reputation as ateaching and training Practice. We share our passion for Primary Care throughproviding placements for sixth form students, teaching all years ofmedical/nursing students, allied health professionals and GP Registrars.
Although experience of working in general practice is ideal,we welcome applications from candidates who possess the skills and attributeswe are looking for, along with experience of running a small to medium businessin a complex and fast-moving environment.

Responsible for the finances of the practice

We are currently a 11-doctor GMS training practice operatingfrom Lingwell Croft Surgery on Shelldrake Drive, at Middleton, Leeds. There arefour GP partners and six salaried GPs.
Providing care to 15,600 patients with four GP Partners, wehave an excellent and well-motivated practice team. An Assistant PracticeManager, IT Manager and Patient Services Manager support this role.
We are a stable partnership, working closely with thePractice Manager in day-to-day communications, monthly management meetings, andbusiness planning meetings, in which the postholder will have a key role.
The successful candidate will have a positive andapproachable manner and excellent communication and organisation skills. Theywill have a business management background and experience of developingservices, managing change, managing teams, financial management and regulatorycompliance.
JobSummary

Keep abreast of current affairs and identify potentialopportunities and threats.
Contribute to practice strategy; formulate objectives and researchand develop ideas for future practice development
Monitor and evaluate performance of the practice team againstobjectives; identify and manage change
Develop and maintain effective communication both within thepractice and with relevant outside agencies
Independently and collaboratively project manage new anddeveloping service change within the practices/primary care network (PCN)
Ensure the practice meets CQC standards
Finance
Responsible for the finances of the practice
Ensure the organisational requirements of the practice contractswith NHSE are fully met and complied with
Support the Partners to develop and implement processes to achieveclinical targets of QOF and enhanced services.
Directly contribute to profit improvement by exploring areas forincreasing income and reducing costs.
Develop and control practice budgets and financial systems.
Prepare financial budgets and cash-flow forecasts.
Liaise with the accountant, bank, and business insurance companiesas appropriate or as directed by the Partners.
Oversee the administration of the NHS Pension and StakeholderPension Schemes
Liaise with the ICB and payment agencies regarding queries withpayments relating to the contract, e.g. enhanced services.
Manage the Partners drawings in consultation with the accountant.
StrategicPlanning
Workingwith the Partners to.
Keep abreast of current affairs and identify potentialopportunities and threats.
Assess and evaluate accommodation requirements and managedevelopment and expansion opportunities if appropriate.
Implement and update the Practice Development Plan, overseeing theimplementation of the aims and objectives.
Assist the practice in the wider community and with forging linkswith other local practices, education bodies, the LMC and relevant agencies andin particular working collaboratively within the PCN.
Formulate objectives and research and develop ideas for futurepractice development.
To represent the practice at PCN, federation and ICB meetings
To make recommendations to the Partners for practice developmentabout enhancing patient services and potential sources of income
Lead and coordinate projects within the practice.
HumanResources
Overallresponsibility for all aspects of HR
Recruitment and selection of staff working, including contracts ofemployment and job descriptions.
Employment Law compliance for the disciplinary and dismissalprocess and after discussion with the partners take any legal advice necessary.
Awareness of current employment legislation
Development and maintenance of good employee/employerrelationships
Ensuring that members of the existing staff team are aware of anychanges that occur in the practice.
To maintain good communication at all times with the practice team
To oversee rotas which allow good staff cover at all times as wellas giving the flexibility required at short notice to cover for illness, etc.
Workforce planning to ensure a good skill mix with staff havingthe appropriate level of training to enable them to carry out their individualroles and responsibilities effectively
To implement pay rises/scales and increments at the appropriatetime.
Responsibility for appropriate paperwork for doctors/staff DBS(Disclosure and Barring Service) checks
To meet with PCN and attached staff as and when necessary andarrange/attend regular meetings with partners to discuss all issues aroundpatient care.
To ensure that suitable facilities are available to enable allstaff to work within the practice.
Be responsible for the health and safety policy and itsimplementation.
Facilitate the development of a multi-disciplinary effectiveprimary health care team.
InformationTechnology
Ensure the update of appropriate information governance systems.
Ensure all Practice IT and telephone systems are functioningeffectively.
Ensure the IG and DSP toolkit requirements are met.
Keep abreast of new technology and ensure existing IT is used toits full potential.
Ensure that the Practice complies with NHS contractual obligationsin relation to patient care.
Maintain registration policies and monitor patient turnover andcapitation.
Oversee and manage effective appointment systems.
Routinely monitor and assess practice performance against patientaccess and demand targets.
Premisesand Equipment
Manage all aspects of the related practice premises.
Represent the practice to negotiate leasing contracts and theirrenewals.
Liaise with NHSE in notional rent review and challenge ifappropriate.
Be responsible for planning and premises expansion projects.
CQC/Compliance
Oversee and maintain compliance with CQC regulations and ensurethat the practice meets the essential standards and is inspection ready.
Ensure the practice maintains compliance with its NHSE contractualobligations.
