Job summary

Portman Dental Care is seeking a motivated Practice Manager for Bay Dental Care in Lancaster. You’ll lead a 4-surgery private practice, drive excellent patient care, and manage day-to-day operations with a focus on efficiency and compliance.

The role requires leadership, a service-focused mindset and strong financial oversight (P&L, KPIs, budgets). Full-time, 40 hours, Monday–Friday, with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team in a patient-focused setting.
• Background in healthcare, retail, hospitality, or similar service field.
• Ability to manage P&L, KPIs and budgets and drive efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support colleagues to perform at their best.
• Ensure fully functional equipment and compliant, process-driven operations.
• Oversee financials, budgets and performance indicators for the practice.
• Act as Registered Manager for the Bay Dental Care site in Lancaster.

The essentials

• Full-time, 40 hours
• Monday - Friday
• Competitive hourly rate from £17 per hour
• 4 surgery private practice offering a range of treatments

Please note that as part of your role, you’ll be the Registered Manager for this practice.

About you

We’d love to receive your application to our Practice Manager vacancy if you have the following skills and experience:

• A healthcare, retail, hospitality, or similar service-focused background - experience managing a dental practice or strong leadership experience as a lead dental nurse is an added bonus, but not essential
• Passionate about delivering great service
• Leading and supporting colleagues to perform at their best
• Confident working with financials (P&L, KPIs, budgets)
• Focused on delivering operational excellence: from fully-functioning equipment and facilities, to a compliant, process-driven practice team
