Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is assisting a welcoming primary school in Leyland to recruit a PPA Teacher for a January 2027 start. This full-time role runs for one term with potential to extend or become permanent. Open to Early Career Teachers and experienced staff, the position offers valuable exposure across year groups.

You will plan and deliver lessons, cover PPA time, assess pupil progress, and work collaboratively to ensure strong outcomes for all pupils.

Qualifications

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience teaching across primary age range including ECT placements.
• Able to teach across different year groups and adapt quickly to new classrooms.
• Demonstrates strong classroom management and teaching skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons across year groups in line with the National Curriculum.
• Cover classes during PPA time.

Contract: Full-time, initially for one term (with the potential to be extended)
Salary: M1-M6 (dependent on experience)

The Role

As the successful PPA Teacher, you will:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and creative lessons across different year groups in line with the National Curriculum.
• Cover classes while teachers are released for their PPA time.
• Adapt teaching to meet the needs of different pupils and abilities.
• Assess, monitor, and support pupil progress.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
• Establish strong relationships with pupils and maintain effective classroom management.
• Work collaboratively with class teachers and colleagues to ensure consistency and the best outcomes for pupils.
• Attend staff meetings, parents' evenings, and other school events as required.

The Ideal Candidate

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Has experience teaching across the primary age range, including placements for ECTs.
• Is confident teaching different year groups and adapting quickly to new classrooms.
• Demonstrates strong classroom management skills.
