Job summary

The GE Aerospace Wales Engineering team is seeking a Support Engineer to provide day-to-day technical support on the shop floor and contribute to long-term engineering projects. The role is office-based but involves substantial time with maintenance technicians on the shop floor, and cross-functional collaboration with operations, planning, quality, sourcing and EH&S.

This position requires shift coverage including mornings and afternoons, with one weekend in three, and is designed to balance

Qualifications

• MEng, BEng, MSc or BSc in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
• Relevant experience in an engineering role; internship/trainee time acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day technical support to shop floor maintenance technicians.
• Compile technical documentation to support engine and component maintenance.
• Compile local policies to meet regulatory requirements and SOPs.
• Vet engine manuals and OEM data.
• Engage in engineering projects to reduce maintenance costs and improve TAT.
• Implement digitisation of engineering processes.
