Job summary

WSP is recruiting Planning Engineers to join our PMCM team, delivering planning and project controls for major UK infrastructure programmes. You will develop schedules, manage project controls and collaborate with project managers, engineers and delivery partners to enable on-time delivery.

You will operate within a national portfolio, gaining exposure to rail, energy and utilities projects, while advancing your career through mentoring, accreditation support, and a culture of innovation.

Qualifications

• Experience planning Power Transmission & Distribution projects across design to construction.
• Developing project schedules from first principles using planning software.
• Experience in integrated project teams and complex infrastructure delivery.
• Understanding delivery lifecycles and project controls including EVM.
• Strong analytical and scheduling narrative skills.
• Excellent client communication and stakeholder management.
• Experience in programme reporting and L2/L3 summaries.
• Experience in schedule changes, risk/QSRA, NEC3/4.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering.
• Consultancy, construction or client-side controls experience.
• Chartership / accreditation progress (APM).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust programmes enabling successful project delivery.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers and delivery partners to ensure integrated planning.
• Deliver planning services across UK infrastructure programmes and portfolios.
• Support clients with national programmes and complex infrastructure challenges.
• Contribute to planning workshops and schedule narrative documents.
