Job summary

Egis is seeking a Design Assurance Engineer for UK National Grid projects. You will ensure designs meet technical specifications, standards and regulatory requirements, including BP141 authorisation and safety by design principles.

The role involves collaboration with project teams, DNOs and contractors to deliver compliant, reliable designs. Based remotely with optional Omnia offices in Stafford, Stockton Heath or Northallerton, you should be willing to travel across the UK.

Qualifications

• Essential: HNC or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems or related discipline.
• Essential: National Grid BP141 Design Assurance Engineer authorisation or similar.
• Essential: Chartered Engineer status or actively pursuing CEng.
• Experience in infrastructure design, design assurance, or technical approval in Electricity Transmission/DNO sectors.
• Strong knowledge of electrical infrastructure relevant to the assurance discipline.

Responsibilities

• Design Review & Design Compliance Assurance Audit Report (DCAAR) acceptance and feedback.
• Coordinate with National Grid Project Teams, DNOs, and Contractors.
• Identify risks and ensure appropriate mitigation actions.
• Maintain design submission records and DCAAR documentation per BP188.
• Engage in design coordination meetings and technical reviews with contractors.
