Job summary

Egis is seeking a Principal Engineer (P&C) to lead and approve Protection and Control design submissions for UK transmission and DNO projects. You will ensure HV infrastructure designs comply with National Grid and DNO standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

Collaboration with contractors, internal teams and project managers is essential to deliver safe, reliable solutions. Responsibilities include design review, risk assessment, and comprehensive documentation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in P&C design or technical approval in electricity transmission or DNO sectors.
• HNC or degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related discipline.
• Knowledge of HV infrastructure including substations, transformers, switchgear and HV cables.

Responsibilities

• Lead, review, assess and approve P&C design submissions for National Grid/DNO projects.
• Chair design review meetings and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
• Identify safety, reliability and performance risks and recommend mitigations.
• Maintain records and prepare technical reports and assurance documentation.
