Job summary

EGIS is seeking a Design Assurance Engineer to undertake BP141 design assurance roles across National Grid projects. You will ensure designs for installations, asset replacements, connection schemes and substation builds comply with technical specs, standards and regulatory requirements.

UK-wide travel and home-based options are available. Ideal candidates will have knowledge of UK electricity transmission/distribution and a background in electrical infrastructure design or design assurance.

Qualifications

• Essential: Degree or HNC in Electrical/Electrical Power Systems.
• Desirable: Chartered Engineer status or working towards CEng accreditation.
• Experience in infrastructure design, design assurance or technical approval in Electricity Transmission/DNO sector.
• Strong knowledge of electrical infrastructure related to the assurance discipline.

Responsibilities

• Review design submissions for compliance with National Grid specifications and standards.
• Provide feedback to address design gaps, non-compliance or risks.
• Support completion of DCAAR when requirements are met.
• Participate in design coordination meetings and technical reviews with contractors.
