Job summary

EGIS is seeking a Design Assurance Engineer to ensure designs for National Grid projects comply with technical specifications and standards. You will review submissions, provide actionable feedback, and support DCAAR completions, engaging with project teams and contractors across the UK.

The role requires knowledge of UK transmission/distribution systems and flexibility for home-based work with occasional office travel across the UK.

Qualifications

• Essential: degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems or related discipline.
• Desirable: BP141 authorisation or SR188 Contractor Design Approval familiarity.
• Experience in transmission/distribution infrastructure design and design assurance.

Responsibilities

• Review design submissions for compliance with National Grid specs and standards.
• Provide feedback to address gaps, non-compliance, or risks.
• Support completion of DCAAR packs once requirements are met.
• Engage in design review meetings with stakeholders.
• Coordinate with other design assurance disciplines.
